Explore a hostile kingdom, vanquish wild beasts, and deal with unscrupulous soldiers on an uncompromising quest for revenge. Secrets and surprises abound across an open world home to enemies and potential allies alike where your choice of path matters as much as your strength and resolve. Armed with your trusty sword, will you cut down all who stand in your way, or use your wits to win the support of the people? The story and world building in Lolife is deliberately vague and left open to interpretation, but here's how it's told in one legend: The old lord of the Lolands was a fair and just ruler with a young heir and an envious brother. When war came to the kingdom and the old lord fell in battle, lordship passed to his ill-prepared heir. As the war raged on unabated, the young lord looked to their uncle for guidance. Sensing opportunity, the uncle sent the new lord into battle after promising to ride with them to protect their exposed flank. Instead the treacherous uncle held back and watched as they were outflanked and overrun by the opposing army. As brother to the old lord, the title passed to the uncle who returned to the Lolands and ruled with an iron fist, unaware that the rightful heir still lived and had sworn to take revenge... ================================================================================ || [CNTRLS] Controls || ================================================================================ D-pad = Move A-button = Attack, Confirm B-button = Interact, Cancel Crank = Contextual Dock crank = Pause Menu TIP: Tapping the D-pad to move is slightly faster than holding a direction. ================================================================================ || [OPTION] Options || ================================================================================ Options can be toggled from the "Option" menu on the main menu. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Gameplay Style | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Real Time = Enemies can move or attack every 0.5 seconds Turn Based = Enemies will only move or attack after a player turn NB: One turn consists of moving twice, moving then attacking, or attacking. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Assist Options | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double Damage = The player will deal double damage Invincibility = The player will not take any damage Tap (B) For Tip = Press the B button for in-game contextual hints Disable Crank = Some elements are modified to no longer require the crank NB: Some ranks cannot be earned with Double Damage or Invincibility enabled. ================================================================================ || [HINTS&] Hints and Tips || ================================================================================ ----------------------------- | Fight weaker foes to heal | ----------------------------- Find yourself in a fight you can't seem to win? You can also manually save and quit by docking the crank to pause and selecting the option from the menu. The HUD area on the right hand side displays your inventory (consisting of six item slots), level, experience towards the next level, player health, and target health (of the last target you attacked). Attack an enemy by facing it and press A to swing your sword. Enemy behaviour varies but most will attack you in return, depleting your health. See the codex section for enemy details. Defeating an enemy will usually recover some of your health. The amount recovered varies by enemy. Defeating some enemies, including guards and soldiers, won't restore any health. Defeat enemies to gain experience. The amount of experience earned depends on your level relative to each enemy. You will only gain experience if your attack deals less damage than the enemy's total health (ignoring any modifiers such as assist options), or in other words once you can defeat an enemy in a single standard attack you will no longer receive any experience for doing so. When the experience bar is full you will level up, gaining 10% more health and dealing 30% more damage. Levels are retained on death. If your health is reduced to zero you will die, losing any experience towards the next level. On death you will respawn at the forest graveyard next to a new grave until the graveyard is full, at which point you will respawn by a random grave. You can interact with the graves to read which enemy killed you. NB: The recommended levels in this walkthrough assume real-time combat with no assist options. Turn based combat level requirements are higher due to the player's single attack per turn, whereas in real-time the player can attack quicker than enemies can. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [AREA1] Forest Lvl 1-3 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMIES Mice, Boars Bears x2, Woodmen x2, Guards x1, Orbs x2 The game begins at a graveyard with the player stood next to a single grave. Familiarise yourself with the controls then head north or west. Fight mice until you reach level 2. At level 2 you can defeat a boar if you heal mid-fight by killing mice. Fight boars until you reach level 4. Avoid fighting the bear in the north-west of the forest and the guard at the bridge to the north-east of the forest. You can talk to the guard by facing them and pressing the "B" button. Once you reach level 4, head north into a new area. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [AREA2] Fields Lvl 4-7 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMIES Mice, Bulls, Scorpions Strawmen x4, Guards x1, Orbs x2 Avoid the bulls for now and instead find and defeat the hidden strawmen by attacking scarecrows to reach level 5 or 6. At level 5 you can defeat a bull if you heal mid-fight by killing mice. Fight bulls until you reach level 8. Pick up the lantern in the north-west village. You will need to enter from the south-west field. The lantern allows you to see in underground areas. If you want to, you can talk to the occupants of the houses in the village by facing each door and pressing the "B" button. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [GATE1] Crossing the River | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The river acts as the first "progress gate" with multiple options to cross it. ----- | 1 | Take the tunnel --------------------- East of the forest graveyard there's a suspicious tree near the river. Attack it to discover it's a woodman which will then flee from combat, revealing a hole where it stood. Step into the hole to enter an underground cave. You'll need the lantern from the north-west village to see inside the cave (although it's technically optional as you can still move in the dark). On the far side of the cave is a ladder that will take you up on the other side of the river, but to get there you'll have to get past a bear. Without any other enemies around to heal you'll need to be level 9+ to defeat the bear. Alternatively you can run past it, which is easiest to do if you bait the bear into chasing you around one of the looping paths to create yourself an opening. ----- | 2 | Obtain the bridge pass ---------------------------- Talk to the bridge guard, then talk at the door of the south-east house in the north-west village to start a quest to obtain the bridge pass. The villager will give you a bridge pass in return for getting rid of the nearby guard. There are two ways to do this. The first is by defeating the guard in combat, for which you'll need to be level 9+. The second requires you to head back to the bridge to talk to the bridge guard for a second time, then return to the village and talk to the village guard. The conversation will prompt the guard to leave for the castle. Talk to the villager again after getting rid of the guard to receive the bridge pass. Head back to the bridge and talk to the bridge guard to show them the pass. Both bridge guards will move aside, allowing you to cross the bridge. ----- | 3 | Beat the bridge guards ---------------------------- To defeat the bridge guards in combat you'll need to be level 10+. After defeating one guard you can leave to heal before returning to fight the second. Alternatively you can attack a guard to bait them both into chasing you. Draw them away from the bridge and then run across when there is an opening. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [AREA3] Grasslands Lvl 8-11 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMIES Mice, Foxes, Sheep, Wolves, Woolfs, Wasps Bear x1, Woodmen x3, Guards x3, Orbs x2 The grasslands are the largest area in the game so take some time to explore. The castle gate is on the north-west edge just east of the bridge, a cemetery is in the centre of the area, and to the south-east is another village. The sheep field in the south of the grasslands is a good place to heal, but watch out for the occasional woolf. There are mice to the north, west, and north-east of the area. Attacking some trees will spawn wasps, which can be dangerous but always die in one hit and can be quickly farmed to heal. To level up fight foxes to reach level 10, then fight wolves to reach level 12. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [GATE2] Entering the Castle | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Entering the castle is the second "progress gate" with multiple approaches. ----- | 1 | Raise the portcullis -------------------------- To raise the portcullis you will need the crank from the garden in the south-east village. Attack the woodman at the end of the path in the village to reveal a hole into a cave. Enter the cave (you will need the lantern to see) and attack the false walls to break open a path through the maze. The false walls can be spotted by their completely black appearance in contrast to the regular earth walls. Head to the castle gate, stand adjacent to the winch and start cranking clockwise to raise the portcullis. It will remain open once fully raised, allowing you to head north into the castle. ----- | 2 | Obtain the gate pass -------------------------- Talk at the door of the north-east house in the south-west village while there are wolves on-screen to start the quest for the gate pass. The villager will ask for help with the wolves. Talk to the guard at the central cemetery and they will tell you to collect a wolf protection tax from the villagers. Talk at the three occupied village houses (ignoring the south-east house) to get the villagers to all reluctantly agree to pay. Return to the cemetery and talk to the guard and they will move to the village. Wolves will not spawn at the village while the guard is present. Talk at the door of the north-east house in the village to receive the gate pass. It's also possible to receive the gate pass by starting the quest then simply killing all the wolves in the village. Talk at the door after killing all the wolves to receive the gate pass but be aware that the wolves will return as soon as you leave the village. Head to the castle gate and talk to the guard outside to show them the gate pass. The guard will open the portcullis, allowing you to head north into the castle. ----- | 3 | Break open the gate ------------------------- The gate winch has a lot of health but can be destroyed by repeatedly attacking it. Beware that attacking the winch will aggro the nearby guard. The tree south of the gate can be attacked to spawn wasps which can be useful to heal when fighting the guard. Once the winch is destroyed the portcullis will open, allowing you to head north into the castle. ----- | 4 | Sneak around the back --------------------------- To the left of the castle gate a narrow path runs the length of the castle wall. Follow the path along the wall up to the north-west corner. Attack and defeat the woodman that blocks the path, then step right under the wall through a hidden entrance. Note that the portcullis will remain closed unless opened in some other way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [AREA4] Castle Lvl 12-13 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMIES Mice, Sheep, Soldiers Woodmen x1, Guards x2, Orbs x1 The soldiers in the castle have a varying amount of health depending on their location. The north-west corner of the castle has the weakest new recruits. The soldier in the south-west of the castle is stronger but there are mice nearby that can be used to heal mid-fight. In the north-east corner of the castle there is also a pen of sheep. These sheep heal twice as much when defeated than those in the grasslands. Take advantage of the above and fight soldiers to reach level 14. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [GATE3] Opening the Keep | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Getting inside the castle keep is the third "progress gate" with two ways in. ----- | 1 | Find the key ------------------ The building attached to the outer wall in the south-east corner of the castle contains the key to the keep. Two guards block the path to the key. Either defeat the guards in combat, attack a guard to bait them into chasing you and use the opportunity to run around them, or talk to the guard in the north-east corner and choose the correct password. The correct password varies by the real world day of the week according to the Playdate system clock. Talk at the door in the north-west corner of the castle to learn the day's password. The weekday/password combos are thus: Mon/Moon, Tue/Fire, Wed/Leaf, Thu/Rain, Fri/Fish, Sat/Coin, Sun/Bell ----- | 2 | Break through the wall ---------------------------- Starting at the locked door to the keep, walk right and attack the wall between the two rightmost windows. Break down the wall to open an alternate entrance into the keep! Note that if you enter the keep via this entrance then exit via the main locked door, it will unlock. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [AREA5] Keep Lvl 14-15 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMIES Mice, Soldiers Guard x1(+1), Lord x1 The keep contains the strongest enemies in the game as the soldiers inside have more health than those in the castle courtyard, so be careful! Make your way anti-clockwise around the ground floor to reach the stairs heading upwards. The stairs downwards to the basement are useful if you need to heal as the basement contains several mice. On reaching the first floor, exit south onto the outside balcony. The door to the right leads back to a small fenced off area with a mouse that heals more than usual when defeated. Head left and up along the balcony and enter the keep via a hidden entrance on the left wall where a final elite guard blocks the last stairwell to the top of the keep. NB: If the guard from the north-west village was persuaded to leave as part of the quest for the bridge pass they can be found in the basement of the keep. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [GATE4] Reaching the Top | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reaching the top of the keep is the fourth "progress gate" with two approaches. ----- | 1 | Beat the elite guard -------------------------- Despite being the strongest guard and the enemy with the most health overall, the elite guard still deals less damage than the soldiers inside the keep so shouldn't prove too much of a challenge unless you are under-levelled and have been avoiding combat. Defeat the guard or just attack them to bait them away from the stairs, allowing you to ascend to the top! ----- | 2 | Obtain the sceptre ------------------------ The sceptre is best obtained before entering the keep as it renders all soldiers non-hostile unless attacked. Head back to the forest graveyard, interact with the original grave in the centre and choose the option to lay down your sword. Head to the castle gate and stand directly beneath the top/roof of the gate so that you are hidden from view. Walk right to pass through a hidden gap in the wall onto the narrow strip of ground between the wall and the river. Follow the path to reach the house in the north-east corner of the grasslands. Talk at the door to start the quest to obtain the sceptre. This can only be started if you do not have the sword, hence laying it down at the grave before heading here. Winning the support of the people requires completing both of the previous quests for the bridge pass and for the gate pass. If these quests have been completed, talk to the respective quest givers in each village to have them pledge their support. Return to the north-east house after receiving both pledges of support and the sceptre will be lying on the ground outside for you to collect. Guards will now have alternate dialogue and soldiers will not attack unless provoked! Head to the keep and stroll past the soldiers to reach the final stairwell. Talk to the elite guard while in possession of the sceptre and they will now step aside, allowing you to ascend unchallenged. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [GATE5] Defeating the Lord | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your final choice is how to defeat the lord of the castle! After all you've been through to get here you might be expecting an epic boss battle, but the reality is quite different. The lord of the castle stands ready for you to pass judgment as you see fit... ----- | 1 | Take revenge ------------------ The lord of the castle is a coward and will run away once attacked. Attack them three times (regardless of your level) to defeat them and take your revenge! ----- | 2 | Walk away --------------- Do not attack the lord of the castle. Instead, talk to them. Keep talking until their dialogue repeats, then simply turn your back and leave the way you came! However you choose to end your quest of vengeance, sit back and enjoy as the credits roll and you receive your final rank... then reload your save slot and get straight back into the post-game! A completed save slot will display a star icon on it to indicate the credits have been reached. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | [AREA6] Farm Lvl 16+ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMIES Mice, Boars, Bulls, Bears, Wolves, Soldiers Woodmen x1, Orbs x1 The farm area is accessed through a hidden passage in the eastern wall of the castle, directly east of the sheep pen. A woodman at the top edge of the fence further blocks progress, so attack them to pass through to the farm proper. In the north-east corner of the map is both the farmhouse and an entrance to the underground. This entrance only becomes accessible after defeating the lord of the castle and seeing the credits. Head down to face your final trial! The final trial starts with five mice spawning. On defeating an enemy a new one will spawn, cycling through 5 boars, 5 bears, 5 wolves and 5 soldiers. At level 16 you should be strong enough to beat the trial. The easiest approach is to only kill one mouse to begin with as this means you only have to deal with one other enemy at a time, and if you need to heal the other mice are still around. On beating the final trial the warrior will turn to face the screen and remove their helmet, revealing their identity to the world. --- If you've followed this walkthrough from the beginning thanks for playing along! XP towards the next level is lost on death. XP is awarded on defeating an enemy according to the formula: round((HTK / HTD) * 20) where HTK (hits-to-kill) and HTD (hits-to-die) are calculated as: Enemy Max HP / Player DAM and Player Max HP / Enemy DAM respectively. If HTK is 1 or less no XP is awarded. All stats are taken as their unmodified values before any assist options, cheats or item effects are applied. ================================================================================ || [CODEXX] Codex || ================================================================================ The codex tracks all enemies defeated across all playthroughs. After defeating an enemy for the first time an expanded codex entry is unlocked. Defeating a certain number of each enemy will earn a trophy on the corresponding codex page. Use the crank to rotate the enemy sprite. --------- ----------------- -------------------- ----------------- | Mouse | | 12 HP | 4 DAM | | 4 HEAL | 3 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 128 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | A small, timid rodent found in many habitats, often predated by other foes. | | | | HINT: A creature that can be found in many habitats. | | | | HABITAT(S): Forest, Fields, Grasslands, Castle, Keep, Farm | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Mice won't ever attack (unless you activate a certain cheat) but | | their behaviour is surprisingly complex. Always randomly roaming, if you get | | within range some mice will always flee, whereas others will ignore you and | | only flee if attacked. Fleeing mice are actually easier to chase down thanks | | to them moving more predictably. You'll want to get comfortable hunting down | | mice regardless as they are the most commonly found way to heal. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- ----------------- -------------------- ---------------- | Boar | | 32 HP | 4 DAM | | 4 HEAL | 3 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 64 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Although small, this beast will attack on sight to protect its woodland home.| | | | HINT: This beast will attack on sight in the forest. | | | | HABITAT(S): Forest, Farm | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Always randomly roaming and aggressive, if you move into range of | | a boar it will chase you down and attack. Fortunately there are always mice | | nearby which you can use to heal mid-combat against this first real threat. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- ------------------- --------------------- ---------------- | Bear | | 150 HP | 12 DAM | | 12 HEAL | 3 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 32 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Solitary beasts found in caves and clearings, hunted down and few now remain.| | | | HINT: An intimidating beast sometimes found in caves. | | | | HABITAT(S): Forest x2, Grasslands x1, Farm | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Bears are best avoided at low levels. Fortunately they will stand | | still to guard their territory, only chasing and attacking the player if you | | move within range and returning to where they started if you flee back out | | of range. It's possible to bait a bear into giving chase in order to quickly | | run around them. Bears do not respawn once killed and are the least commonly | | found enemy, but can be farmed by repeatedly failing the final trial. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------ ------------------ -------------------- ---------------- | Strawman | | 150 HP | 5 DAM | | 5 HEAL | 2 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 16 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Living bundles of straw hidden in fields that will flee when under attack. | | | | HINT: Strange fellows outstanding in their field. | | | | HABITAT(S): Fields x4 | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Disguised as scarecrows, strawmen won't move unless directly | | attacked. Once attacked they will flee from the player when the player moves | | within range. An easy source of XP as they don't attack back, but strawmen | | also don't respawn making them a limited resource per playthrough. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- ----------------- -------------------- ---------------- | Bull | | 60 HP | 8 DAM | | 6 HEAL | 4 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 64 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Badly tempered domestic beasts kept grazing on farmland. Watch their horns! | | | | HINT: Domestic beasts kept grazing on farmland. | | | | HABITAT(S): Fields, Farm | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Bulls have a large range in which they will chase and attack the | | player, but otherwise they are content to stand still. Combined with being | | fenced in to their fields this makes them relatively easy to avoid. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------ ---------------- -------------------- ---------------- | Scorpion | | 1 HP | 6 DAM | | 4 HEAL | 0 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 16 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | They wait for prey to fall in to their burrow with stingers at the ready. | | | | HINT: Hides in a dark burrow beneath fertile soil. | | | | HABITAT(S): Fields (underground) | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Found exclusively in one area under the central field, scorpions | | are easy to miss. They're only really a threat if you stumble into their | | burrow before picking up the lantern as you won't see them in the dark. They | | move randomly, never chasing the player and only attacking when adjacent, | | and are always defeated in a single strike. This does mean however that they | | will never give XP when defeated so are only worth fighting for the trophy! | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- ------------------ -------------------- ---------------- | Woodman | | 400 HP | 1 DAM | | 1 HEAL | 2 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 32 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Woodmen rely on their disguises to avoid danger by blending in with trees. | | | | HINT: Uses camouflage to avoid danger by blending in. | | | | HABITAT(S): Forest x2, Grasslands x2, Castle x2, Farm x1 | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Similar to strawmen, woodmen are disguised as trees and are only | | revealed when attacked, at which point they will flee until out of range of | | the player. Woodmen usually block access to an underground cave or hidden | | path and don't respawn when killed, making them a limited source of XP. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- ----------------- -------------------- ---------------- | Wasp | | 1 HP | 12 DAM | | 4 HEAL | 5 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 32 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Multiple swarms fly out to protect a nest, behaviour which can be useful. | | | | HINT: Won't come out unless the nest is disturbed. | | | | HABITAT(S): Grasslands | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Attacking specific lone trees in the grasslands will spawn swarms | | of wasps. Two swarms can spawn sequentially, and with a large range and high | | damage can quickly overwhelm the player as they are immediately aggressive. | | Additional swarms can be continuously spawned while remaining on the same | | screen, making for a useful and renewable source of healing. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- ------------------ -------------------- ---------------- | Fox | | 100 HP | 8 DAM | | 4 HEAL | 3 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 48 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Aloof fauna of the grasslands said by some to bring good luck and fortune. | | | | HINT: Aloof fauna of the grasslands and the plains. | | | | HABITAT(S): Grasslands | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Foxes roam randomly and ignore the player even if the player gets | | into combat with other enemies. Only when directly attacked will foxes start | | to defend themselves. This makes them easy to fight one at a time even where | | multiple foxes are found together. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- ------------------ ----------------------- ---------------- | Sheep | | 150 HP | 1 DAM | | 6-12 HEAL | 3 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 64 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Livestock left to graze in the grasslands. Can be rounded up with ease. | | | | HINT: Livestock often left to graze on grassland. | | | | HABITAT(S): Grasslands, Castle | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Found in two specific areas, sheep will always flee if the player | | moves within range and otherwise stand still, making them easy to round up. | | The sheep in the castle heal twice as much as the sheep in the grasslands. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- ------------------- -------------------- ---------------- | Wolf | | 200 HP | 12 DAM | | 6 HEAL | 8 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 64 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Wild wolves are well known to hunt in packs, and will attack human villages. | | | | HINT: Vicious beasts well known to hunt in packs. | | | | HABITAT(S): Grasslands, Farm | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Randomly roaming and with a very large range, wolves are quick to | | chase and attack the player and can be very dangerous. Position yourself by | | trees or other scenery to funnel the wolves into attacking one at a time so | | that you aren't quickly surrounded and overwhelmed. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- ------------------- -------------------- --------------- | Woolf | | 200 HP | 12 DAM | | 6 HEAL | 3 RANGE | | TROPHY AT 4 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Be wary of this wolf in sheep's clothing that has infiltrated the flock. | | | | HINT: An imposter who has infiltrated the flock. | | | | HABITAT(S): Grasslands | | | | BEHAVIOUR: Each time the player enters the sheep pen area of the grasslands | | there is a 20% chance that one of the sheep will actually be a woolf. These | | wolves in sheep's clothing are identical in appearance to sheep but will | | chase and attack the player once in range. They | | will chase the player when in range and return to their post if the player | | moves out of range. This | | makes them always useful for levelling even if you've already discovered the | | secrets they hide and earned the Antiantiquarian award. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ || [AWARDS] Awards || ================================================================================ Awards are unlocked by fulfilling specific conditions and persist across all playthroughs. It is not possible to unlock all awards in a single playthrough. Revenge Clear the game -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This award will be earned on defeating the lord and seeing the credits. Follow the walkthrough in this guide if you need some help! Served Fast Clear the game in less than 15 minutes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your playtime is displayed after rolling the credits - as long as it's under 15 minutes you will earn this award. Once you've already played through the game and know what is necessary to progress you should be able to achieve this with time to spare. Doing a specific pacifist run may be easier as it doesn't involve any levelling through combat which speeds things along. You can also just turn on some assist options or enter some cheats if you need to. Lone Warrior Clear the game in one life -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't die at all during a playthrough and you'll earn this award on seeing the credits. If you do die, quit the game before respawning at the graveyard and the death won't count, allowing you to continue from the same save slot. If you are really struggling simply turn on the invincibility assist option. In the north-east farm area the single grave next to the house states the total number of lives lost in the current playthrough and can be referenced to confirm that this award should be earned. Pacifist Clear the game without using the sword -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A pacifist playthrough is very different to a normal playthrough and can be a fun puzzle to solve for yourself! Importantly you must never use the sword which includes ever swinging it, even if you only attack empty space. The best way to ensure you never swing the sword is to immediately on starting a new game press "B" while facing the grave and choose the option to lay down your sword. You can't use what you don't have! Without a sword you'll have to run away from enemies and find non-violent ways to progress. Refer to the progress gate sub-sections in the walkthrough to find the pacifist method for each gate. Specifically you will need to obtain the bridge pass to cross the bridge, obtain the gate pass to enter the castle, use the password to get the key to enter the keep, obtain the sceptre to pass the elite guard, and walk away from the lord to trigger the credits. Provided you never swung the sword you'll earn the award! Silent Type Clear the game without talking to anyone -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talking specifically means interacting with guards or interacting at doors. If you interact with a grave or a winch that won't count as talking and won't stop you from earning this award. If you do accidentally talk, immediately quit the game and you'll be able to continue from the same save slot. A silent playthrough somewhat mirrors a pacifist playthrough as the only way to progress without talking is with violence. Refer to the walkthrough if needed! Destitute Clear the game with no items -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No items specifically means any item that appears in the inventory spaces in the HUD on the right side of the screen. Similar to Silent Type and able to both be earned together, the only way to progress without items is through violence. To cross the bridge you can technically pass through the tunnel under the river without any items but that requires doing so in the dark. Fighting your way past the bridge guards is the easiest option. Entering the castle can be done either by breaking the winch or by taking the back entrance. Entering the keep without items requires you to break open the alternate entrance. Permitted Find and obtain the Bridge Pass and use it to cross a river -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the first progress gate in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. By Invitation Find and obtain a Gate Pass and use it to enter the castle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the second progress gate in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. Rightful Ruler Find and obtain the Sceptre and show it to the elite guard -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the fourth progress gate in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. Hoarder Completely fill the inventory -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For this award you will need to fill all six inventory spaces in the HUD on the right side of the screen. Filling the final empty slot will earn this award. Specifically you will need the lantern, crank handle, key/shovel, bridge pass, gate pass and sceptre. Refer to the walkthrough for getting all of these items. Use the Crank! Crank open the castle gate -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the second progress gate in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. Brute Force Break open the castle gate -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the second progress gate in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. Infiltration Sneak into the castle via the back entrance -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the second progress gate in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. Pest Control Kill 100 mice -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simply kill 100 mice across any number of playthroughs to earn this award. This is less than the number of mice you need to kill to earn the trophy in the codex so don't stop at 100! The Final Straw Kill every last Strawman hiding in the fields -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kill all four strawmen in a single playthrough to earn this award. All four strawmen can be found in the fields area, disguised as scarecrows. The first is just right of the entrance to the forest, the second is in the central field south of the village, and the third and fourth are both in the north-east, reached via a narrow path starting in the north-east corner of the village. If you talk at the north-east house in the north-west village, the dialogue will change after killing all four strawmen. Deforestation Kill every last woodman hiding in the world -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kill all seven woodmen in a single playthrough to earn this award. The woodmen are spread out across the Lolands. In the forest one is east of the graveyard stood alone near the river and another is west of the graveyard in the centre of the clearing. In the grasslands one is at the end of the path in the south-east village and another is in the far north-east corner, up and right of the bridge leading to the lone house that is accessed from the castle gate. In the castle one is in the north-west corner at the end of the path between the wall and the river and another is stood alone in the south-west of the castle courtyard. The final woodman is in the farm area east of the castle at the top of the fence, blocking the only path into the area proper. When moving screens woodmen (and strawmen) are briefly visible as their sprites will be removed for a single frame before the next screen is displayed. Anarchy Kill every last Guard deployed by the castle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kill all eight guards in a single playthrough to earn this award. All eight must be dead at the same time (i.e. resurrecting the guards will reset the count). The guards are spread out across the Lolands. One guard starts in the north-west village and will move to the basement of the keep if the quest for the bridge pass is solved non-violently. Two guards stand either side of the bridge between the forest and the grasslands. One guard starts at the cemetery in the centre of the grasslands and will move to the south-east village if the quest for the gate pass is solved non-violently. One guard stands outside the castle gate. Two more guards are found inside the building in the south-east corner of the castle. One final elite guard is found on the first floor of the keep, blocking the stairs. Expendable Die 30 times in a single quest -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simple enough but potentially time consuming (unless you accidentally earn this award on your first playthrough). If starting a new playthrough specifically to earn this award, the quickest method is to remain at level 1 and repeatedly die to the boars in the forest. The award will be earned after dying 30 times. Fast Traveller Use any of the magic warps in the world -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kill both the bear in the north-west of the forest and the bear in the north of the grasslands and a magic warp will appear between the two locations next time either is visited. Simply step into the warp to use it and earn this award. Alternatively there are several warps on the hidden path to the Spirit Sword - refer to the secret Sword Master award for details. There is also a warp back to the forest graveyard from the secret spawn. Farmhand Round up all of the sheep into their pen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To earn this award chase all five sheep in the south of the grasslands into the enclosure. The sheep will flee from the player when you get close and otherwise stand still which makes them easy to corral. They will also never flee to the far edges of the screen, allowing you to always move behind them if necessary. The award will be earned when the fifth sheep is herded into the enclosure. Note that this award cannot be earned if a woolf spawns in place of one of the sheep. Simply exit and re-enter the area until no woolf is present before trying to round up all five sheep. After rounding up the sheep for the first time, on returning to the area a sign will now be present. Read the sign (from the front) to check your record time for rounding up the sheep and try for a new record! The timer restarts as soon as you move onto the screen. For a real challenge try to beat 35 seconds! Bell Ringer Ring the bell hidden beneath the castle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the basement of the keep, attack the upper wall four tiles to the right of the stairs to locate a destructible section (if in doubt use the target bar in the HUD as an indicator of the correct section). If the guard from the north-west village returned to the castle as part of the quest for the bridge pass you will find them in the basement and they will give a clue as to the existence of another room beneath the basement. Unlike in other situations they will not turn hostile if you attack the destructible section of the wall. On destroying the wall another flight of stairs will be revealed leading to a second basement. Descend to find a large bell in the centre of the room. Attack the bell to make it ring, earning the Bell Ringer award. Striking the bell will resurrect any guards you have killed, an effect hinted at by additional flavour text on striking the bell when there are guards in need of resurrection. This can be repeated as many times as you like after killing at least one guard. Press the "B" button to interact with the bell and discover it is "The sacred bell of vengeance". This is in reference to the sacred bells in Resonant Tale. If playing as Leit from Resonant Tale using the Bellborn Hero cheat there will be an additional line of dialogue. Antiantiquarian Destroy all of the orbs hidden underground -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find and destroy all eight magic orbs to earn this award. All of the orbs are located underground and their locations are given as clues when interacting with the empty pedestals found around the Lolands. 1. WITHIN THE LAIR OF SOME BEAST (south-east forest pedestal) The cave passing beneath the river and linking the forest and grasslands has an orb behind a destructible wall. The nearby bear can cause problems and it is easiest to defeat the bear before attempting to destroy the orb. 2. UNDER THE BULLS WATERING HOLE (north fields pedestal) This orb is visible from the scorpion's cave under the south-west fields but must be accessed by draining the pond in the south-west corner of the area. To drain the pond either use the crank handle on the winch in the north-west corner of the north-west village or destroy the winch by attacking it repeatedly. 3. BURIED WITH THE BRAVE SOLDIER (south-west grasslands pedestal) At the central grasslands cemetery the second grave on the left on the bottom row of graves reads "IN MEMORIAM BRAVE SOLDIER". Interact with this grave from behind to push it and uncover a hole leading down to the orb. To get behind the grave the nearby guard will either need to be attacked or have moved away to the south-east village as part of the quest for the gate pass. 4. IN A FIELD EAST OF THIS PLACE (south-west farm pedestal) The south-east farm area has two large crop circles. In the treeline south of the left crop circle is a hole leading underground. The underground tunnels mimic the crop circles in layout with added connecting tunnels. Navigate the tunnels, some of which are hidden, to reach the orb. 5. AMONG THE ROOTS OF THE FOREST (bottom-left west grasslands pedestal) This orb is at the end of a spiralling cave beneath the south-west forest. The entrance is beneath a woodman in the centre of the clearing, specifically the bottom left of the four solid trees. 6. BENEATH A FIELD WELL DEFENDED (top-left west grasslands pedestal) This orb is under the small field with three scarecrows in the north fields. The field can be accessed by a small path running alongside the river starting in the north-east corner of the north-west village. The left and right scarecrows are actually strawmen and can be attacked to reveal two holes. Go down the left hole to reach the orb. 7. LOST UNDERNEATH VILLAGE RUINS (bottom-right west grasslands pedestal) Beneath the west grasslands is a labyrinth of half-concealed tunnels containing an orb. The exact path is hidden and reaching the orb requires turning downwards while midway along a concealed path. The entrance on the surface is at least plainly visible within the ruins of some old buildings. 8. HIDDEN TREASURE OF THE CASTLE (top-right west grasslands pedestal) In the south-west of the castle courtyard a solitary tree is actually a woodman concealing another underground entrance. Attack the woodman and head below to find yourself in the rightmost of two caves, the left cave containing the orb. Attack the wall between the caves to dig out a path to reach the orb. On destruction the orbs will return to their corresponding pedestals. Interact with an orb on a pedestal to discover a cheat code. Refer to the cheats section of this guide for more detail. A ninth orb can be found in the Secret Village. It does not count towards the Antiantiquarian award. Rulebreaker Enter any cheat code from the title screen -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enter a cheat code on the game's main menu to earn the Rulebreaker award. Refer to the cheats section of this guide for a list of cheats. Champion Beat the final trial to become the champion -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the final chapter in the walkthrough for how to earn this award. Hiscore Reach level 20 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To reach level 20 you'll either need to grind out the last few levels from the soldiers inside the keep or gain XP from destroying magic orbs. As well as this award you'll also be rewarded with the satisfaction of being almost unstoppable! Naturalist Finish and view the full codex -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the codex for a full list of enemies and where to find them. To earn this award you only need to kill one of each enemy to populate all of the codex entries. The award will be earned on viewing the completed codex. Nolife Earn all of the listed awards -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After earning all of the above awards, view the awards list to earn the Nolife award. Give yourself a pat on the back, but you're not done yet. It's time to earn some secret awards! ******************************************************************************** * Secret Awards * ******************************************************************************** Secret awards are initially unlisted. They can still be earned and will appear in the awards list once earned. All secret awards will be listed after earning all non-secret awards including the Nolife award. Egg Collector Find all of the Easter eggs hid by the pastor -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the Easter calendar event for how to earn this award. Spooky Warrior Smash up all of the pumpkins at Halloween time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the Halloween calendar event for how to earn this award. Holiday Hero Deliver all of the Christmas gifts left around the castle tree -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Refer to the Christmas calendar event for how to earn this award. Prospector Use the shovel to discover and obtain the four lost treasures -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After picking up the lantern from outside the house in the north-west village, talk at the door to learn the occupant is a collector of rare curios. Return to this door with the key from the castle and they will offer to trade the key for the shovel. Accept the trade (you can freely swap back and forth) and you can start digging for the four lost treasures! The four treasures are hidden in the forest, fields, grasslands and castle. Walk over a specific tile in each area with the shovel in your inventory and you will automatically dig a hole. Descend into the secret areas below to find treasure chests containing each of the lost treasures. 1. Forest Treasure (Blessed Ring) Dig south of the original grave in the forest graveyard and enter a cross-shaped underground cave. If the graveyard is full the spot will be obvious as there is a grave missing. The Blessed Ring gives you a 20% chance of surviving a deadly blow with 1HP remaining. You'll hear a chime when this triggers. 2. Fields Treasure (Silver Ring) Dig where the strawman stands in the field to the right of the entrance to the forest and enter a narrow tunnel. The Silver Ring always increases the amount you heal by 20%. 3. Grasslands Treasure (Thief's Ring) The grasslands lost treasure is actually visible from within the hole under the west grasslands ruins, but to reach it you'll need to dig in the conspicuously empty spot within the other ruined plot and navigate a mostly hidden path. The Thief's Ring gives you a 20% chance to avoid taking damage when attacked. 4. Castle Treasure (Diamond Ring) There are four separate holes you can dig in the four corners of the sheep pen in the north-east corner of the castle. Only the top-left hole leads to the lost treasure. The Diamond Ring always reduces the damage you take by 20%. On collecting the fourth and final treasure you will earn the Prospector award. Sword Master Take the hidden forest path and find the Spirit Sword within -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You may have noticed that the map of the Lolands is not a perfect rectangle as the grasslands to the east reach further south than the forest to the west. This is a clue to finding the hidden forest path and the Spirit Sword! In the south-west corner of the grasslands stand to the left of the bottom-left tree in the north-west group of four trees. Move directly left into the trees along the left border of the screen to discover the start of the hidden path. The next screen contains six magic warps each in their own clearing. Step onto the top-right warp to teleport to the top-left, the walk directly right through the trees and step onto the top-middle warp to teleport to the bottom-middle. Step back onto the bottom-middle warp to teleport to the bottom-left, then walk directly left through the trees and off-screen to reach a large clearing where you'll find the Spirit Sword. With the Spirit Sword collected you'll earn a huge 50% more experience! The Spirit Sword is also the name of the sword in Resonant Tale. Return the way you came or re-enter the sword clearing and use the warp to quickly return to the grasslands. Trophy Hunter View the fully completed codex after unlocking every trophy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Defeating a requisite number of enemies of each type will earn a trophy icon on each corresponding codex page. Refer to the Codex section for the count required for each enemy. The award will be earned on viewing the completed codex. Foxhound Earn every rank across multiple playthroughs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You'll need to earn all nine ranks which means (at least) nine playthroughs to earn the Foxhound award. Refer to the Ranks section for all rank requirements. The Mouse rank is best earned on the same playthrough as the Expendable award. It can also be earned more quickly (without having to reach the rank threshold of 25 deaths) by completing an otherwise Sheep rank qualifying playthrough except for never engaging in dialogue. The ranks Mouse, Sheep, Boar, Bull and Bear are all more quickly earned with the use of cheats and/or assist options, but earning them without any advantages may be a more enjoyable challenge. The Fox and S.Fox awards are most easily earned with a pacifist run. See the Pacifist award for a specific walkthrough. S.Wolf is probably the hardest rank to earn, requiring you reach level 10 and complete the game with no deaths in under 15 minutes, but with some efficient grinding it is possible with multiple minutes to spare. If you're struggling, make use of moving between screens to respawn enemies and shorten the grind. True Nolife Earn every last award including secret awards -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The final and most difficult award of them all is also the simplest! Once you've earned every other award, including secret awards, simply view the awards list to earn the True Nolife award. Congratulations, you've mastered the game! ******************************************************************************** * Hidden Award * ******************************************************************************** An additional hidden award can only be unlocked by editing the game's save file. It is not necessary to earn the Save Editor award to earn the True Nolife award and earning this award has no effect other than adding it to the awards list. Save Editor Poke around in places that you shouldn't -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit the game's save file (store.json), locate the key "do_not_edit" and change the value to something other than "0". On launching the game the Save Editor award will be earned. Be careful as you can easily break the game by editing other values in the save file! ================================================================================ || [RANKSS] Ranks || ================================================================================ On defeating the lord of the castle you will earn a rank for that playthrough. There are nine ranks in total with varying requirements. Later ranks take precedence over earlier ranks. Return to the top of the castle after earning a rank to find the matching animal in the room. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Mouse Default | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | <25 deaths | | Sheep Level <10 | | Used dialogue | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Boar <25 deaths | | Level 10+ | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Bull <45 minutes | | Level 15-17 | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | Bear <8 deaths | | Level 18+ | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | <30 minutes | | Wolf <8 deaths | | Level 10+ | | No disqualifying criteria | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | <30 minutes | | Fox <8 deaths | | Level <10 | | No disqualifying criteria | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | <15 minutes | | S.Wolf 0 deaths | | Level 10+ | | No disqualifying criteria | |------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | <15 minutes | | S.Fox 0 deaths | | Level <10 | | No disqualifying criteria | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ************************** * Disqualifying Criteria * ************************** If certain disqualifying assist options or cheats are enabled at any point during a playthrough the noted ranks cannot be earned. ** The disqualifying assist options are Double Damage and Invincibility ** ** The disqualifying cheats are Terrifying Aura and Level 99 ** ================================================================================ || [EVENTS] Calendar Events || ================================================================================ Play Lolife on certain dates throughout the year to discover these bonus events. There are three calendar events in total, each active for five days around their corresponding real world celebration. Events are triggered when launching the game by checking the Playdate's system clock. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Easter Good Friday - Easter Tuesday | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pastor Bo has hidden Easter eggs all across the plains! Find all eight eggs to earn the special "Egg Collector" award. Don't forget to talk to the pastor in his house in the village to the south-east! The eggs are located one per screen excluding the south-east village and the westernmost screens bordering the river. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Halloween October 29th - November 2nd | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Farmer Ed needs your help smashing all of the pumpkins that have sprouted in the fields! Smash all six pumpkins to earn the special "Spooky Warrior" award. Don't forget to talk to the farmer in his house in the village to the north-west! The pumpkins are located around the fields and must be attacked and destroyed. They can also be interacted with for a unique line of dialogue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Christmas December 23rd - December 27th | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the festive period some of the castle soldiers take a break as a Christmas tree is erected in the castle courtyard and decorated with lights! Share the holiday spirit by delivering the four presents placed around the tree to their intended recipients across all four regions of the world. After delivering the final gift you will earn the special "Holiday Hero" award. The four gifts must be picked up and delivered to the north-west building in the castle courtyard, the small house in the south-east village, the small house in the north-west village, and the central grave in the forest graveyard. ================================================================================ || [CHEATS] Cheat Codes || ================================================================================ There are several cheat codes with various effects in Lolife. Cheat codes should be entered on the main menu. A sparkle will appear next to the logo and a small chime will play on successful cheat code entry. CODE KEY u/d/l/r = D-pad up/down/left/right, a/b = A/B button -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Orb Cheats | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These cheat codes can be discovered in-game by destroying magic orbs to return them to their pedestals. See the Antiantiquarian award for details. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Orb No. | Code | Name | Effect | |---------|----------|-----------------|---------------------------------------| | 1 | udlrdurl | Invert Screen | Inverts black/white pixels | | 2 | duldruub | The Choosed One | Play as TCO from Initial Daydream | | 3 | blurbbud | Alternative HUD | HUD shows numbers instead of bars | | 4 | urudbrll | Bellborn Hero | Play as Leit from Resonant Tale | | 5 | bluddrub | Hostile Mice | Mice attack the player | | 6 | lurdbull | Terrifying Aura | All enemies flee from the player | | 7 | bluublur | Faster Wildlife | All enemies move at double speed | | 8 | dullblur | Invisibility | Player turns invisible | | 9 | ludulbbr | Level 99! | Player level is set to 99 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Other Cheats | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These cheat codes are not discoverable in-game. The first two codes are common across many games, with RUBDUBUB appearing in many Playdate games specifically. The third code is discoverable within the Lolife Original Score companion app for Playdate. The final code has never been revealed before this guide! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Code | Name | Effect | |------------|----------------|------------------------------------------------- | uuddlrlrba | Event Calendar | Display a calendar of upcoming events | | rubdubdub | Secret Village | Play a bonus level based on Resonant Tale | | uurbud | Sound Test | Open a sound test menu | | bubbld | Frogue | Play as Frogue from Froguelike (has no sword) | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Secret Village Guide | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On entering the Secret Village cheat code you will start a bonus game in a partial recreation of Melody Village from Resonant Tale. Don't worry about your save slots as this bonus game is standalone and progress will not be saved. The Secret Village can be "completed" by returning a hidden orb to the pedestal in the village. Doing so will reveal the Level 99! cheat code. Attack the tree in the north-west corner directly beneath the vertical fencing to reveal a Woodman which will flee, opening a path to the chest in the fenced off area north of the houses. Open the treasure chest to get the old lantern. Attack the tree in the centre of the area, north-west of the signpost, to reveal another woodman and a hole leading into a small dungeon. Open the chest in the north-west corner to get the dungeon key. Use the dungeon key to open the locked door to the north-east room and open the chest inside to get the crank handle. Use the crank handle on the winch in the south-west room to raise the portcullis blocking the way to the orb in the south-east room. A portcullis will also close in the entrance to the south-west room but the room can still be exited through a hidden entrance on its north wall into the north-west room. Attack and destroy the orb in the south-east room to return it to its pedestal. The orb will take a lot of hits to destroy at level 1 so it may be easier to first defeat a fox in the village to reach level 4. The village fox will not fight back so don't worry! With a bit of grinding and/or patience it's also possible to attack and destroy the winch to gain access to the orb without needing the dungeon key or crank handle (or even the lantern). Interact with the orb on the pedestal to reveal the Level 99! cheat code. Once you're done exploring, dock the crank to save and quit back to the main menu. You can talk to the residents of the Secret Village at their doors. If you are playing as Leit with the Bellborn Hero cheat their dialogue will be different! ================================================================================ || [SECRET] Secrets || ================================================================================ There are more secrets hidden in Lolife that aren't related to awards or cheats. ---------------------- ! Hidden Gate Switch ! ---------------------- Inside the building in the south-east corner of the castle, the guard to the left tells you not to touch the cask behind him. Ignore him and try interacting with the solitary cask and you'll discover a hidden switch! This switch will raise or lower the castle gate, however it won't work if the gate winch has been destroyed. ---------------------------- ! Repairing the Gate Winch ! ---------------------------- If you've destroyed the gate winch it's possible to repair it by talking at the north-west door in the south-west village. The occupant will offer to repair the winch, you only have to agree to it! ------------------------ ! Healing Flower Power ! ------------------------ Stand on any flower patch, wait for a few seconds and you'll start to slowly recover health! With a bit of patience you can use this method to heal instead of fighting enemies. ---------------- ! Secret Spawn ! ---------------- On every death after your ninth death (i.e. once the forest graveyard is full) there is a 10% chance you will respawn not at the forest graveyard but at a secret spawn with a single grave located in the far south-west of the Lolands. A nearby mouse will give an additional flat 50 experience if killed, getting you immediately halfway towards your next level, and a warp will take you back to the forest graveyard. ------------------ ! A Hero's Grave ! ------------------ At the central grasslands cemetery the second grave on the right on the top row of graves has the unique inscription "HERE LIES LEIT!" in reference to the main character of Resonant Tale. If you are playing as Leit with the Bellborn Hero cheat the exclamation mark is replaced with a question mark. --------------------- ! Natural Selection ! --------------------- As explained in the codex section there are two variants of mice with slightly differing behaviour. One variant will ignore the player when approached while the other will flee. At the start of a playthrough both variants are equally likely to spawn, but the balance will shift with every mouse killed. Whenever you kill a variant it will decrease the chance of that variant spawning and increase the chance of the other variant spawning by 1%. The spawn ratio between variants eventually caps at 99:1. ------------------- ! Secret Messages ! ------------------- Enable in-game hints from the options menu and you can press the "B" button to receive contextual tips. There are a few specific locations with unique secret hints such as the centre of the crop circles, the spot where the woodman stands in the north-east grasslands, and in the top-right and bottom-left dead-ends in the underground maze beneath the south-east village. The last two messages are references to the game Daedalus Versus Minotaur. ------------------- ! Lolife 2 Teaser ! ------------------- In the basement of the castle keep, interact with the cask in the bottom-left corner to discover a flyer for Lolife 2! Will it happen? Watch this space! ================================================================================ || [CREDIT] Credits || ================================================================================ Game Credits Guide Credits -------------------------------- -------------------------------- | Game By | | Guide By | | Scott Hall | | Scott Hall | | Music & Sound | | Proofreading | | James Gameboy | | Toad | | Playtesting | | Omar | | JezoShow | -------------------------------- | Toad | | Omar | Lolife (c) Orange Thief Ltd | Kodiak | | Soinksters | Made in Pulp (play.date/pulp/) | Cover Art | | Toad | Thanks for playing! --------------------------------
